PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will deliver a special address tomorrow aimed at strengthening unity and patriotism among Malaysians ahead of the nation’s 68th National Day celebration.
The event will take place at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (Maeps) and is expected to draw over 4,000 guests, including civil servants, members of the uniformed services, educators, students, youth groups, trade union representatives, entrepreneurs, cooperatives and small business owners.
Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, and Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari will also be in attendance.
The ceremony will include a recital of the Rukun Negara pledge by student volunteers and children from Tabika Perpaduan, alongside a cultural performance themed “Harmoni Madani”.
Those unable to attend in person are encouraged to follow the proceedings via live broadcast on television and social media platforms.
Minister Aaron previously said that the Prime Minister’s address would serve as a key moment to express the government’s hopes and aspirations for a united and inclusive Malaysia. “It is a platform to convey the importance of embracing the spirit of unity and fostering patriotism among Malaysians,” he said.
This year’s National Day celebration will be held at Dataran Putrajaya under the theme “Malaysia Madani: Rakyat Disantuni”.
Earlier today, Anwar made an unannounced visit this morning to observe the full dress rehearsal for the National Day 2025 celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya.
Arriving at around 8.30am, Anwar took time to mingle with members of the public attending the rehearsal and witnessed the human graphics segment, which is expected to be one of the event’s highlights.
He was also given a brief overview of the overall preparations for the event, which is scheduled to take place this Sunday.
Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, who arrived earlier at 7.30am, accompanied the Prime Minister during the inspection. He oversaw the coordination of the main stage activities, including traffic control and the participation of various government agencies and schools.
This year’s National Day celebration will feature over 14,000 participants, 78 vehicles, seven decorated floats and cultural performances. A ceremonial 14-gun salute is also planned during the rendition of the national anthem, ‘Negaraku’. - August 29, 2025
