A 46-YEAR-OLD Malaysian man was arrested by Thai police on 29 August after authorities discovered a cache of firearms and ammunition in his vehicle at a roadblock near the Sadao district.

According to local police, the man was detained at 5:35pm by officers from the Sadao District Police Station.

A search of his Malaysian-registered Kia uncovered two M4 rifles, 300 rounds of 5.56mm calibre ammunition, seven 5.56mm magazines, 100 rounds of .45 calibre ammunition and 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

All weapons and ammunition have been confiscated for further investigation by Thai authorities. economically - September 11, 2025
