THREE police officers have been detained in Kuala Lumpur to assist in an investigation into the alleged extortion and molestation of a female student.
The arrests were made following a police report filed by the student, who claimed she and her boyfriend were stopped by a group of officers in Sentul Pasar.
She alleged that she was extorted for RM10,000 and forced to have sexual relations with one of the officers.
The student also claimed that one of the officers molested her by pinching her breast during the encounter.
The incident occurred around 1:10 a.m. on September 17 when the student and her boyfriend were stopped by three policemen near a food stall in Sentul.
According to the police report, the officers allegedly seized their phones and identification cards without consent.
Two of the officers reportedly accessed the boyfriend’s phone, viewing private photos. The third officer then separated the student from her boyfriend, threatening that the photos constituted a “serious offence” that could lead to a fine or imprisonment.
The student claimed in her report that the officer demanded she either pay RM10,000 on the spot or engage in sexual acts with him to “settle” the matter.
He allegedly threatened that her life and education would be ruined if she was jailed. The officer reportedly proposed repeated sexual encounters, including spending the night with him, and threatened to detain her boyfriend if she refused.
He also allegedly molested her by pinching her left breast during the two-hour encounter and retained her MyKad, promising to return it only if she met him again.
The student claimed the officer also promised her money and an iPhone if she maintained a sexual relationship with him.
Kuala Lumpur Deputy Police Chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad confirmed the arrests, stating, "The arrests were made to assist the investigation into the police report filed by the female student.
“All individuals involved have been remanded for four days to assist the investigation under Section 384 of the Penal Code and Section 354 of the Penal Code." - September 19, 2025
