THE Government has firmly rejected any attempt to mischaracterise its political support and humanitarian efforts for Palestine, reiterating its long-standing foreign policy principles grounded in international law, human rights, and peaceful coexistence

MALAYSIA has issued a firm rejection of what it describes as “malicious attempts” to misinterpret its political stance and humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasised that Malaysia has consistently championed peace, justice, and adherence to the United Nations Charter, international law, and the principles of peaceful coexistence among nations.

“These foundational principles have formed the core of Malaysia’s foreign policy since achieving independence,” the ministry said.

In line with these values, Malaysia reiterated its strong opposition to colonialism, foreign occupation, and serious violations of international law, including breaches of human rights, humanitarian law, and apartheid policies.

The statement underscored Malaysia’s unwavering support for the Palestinian struggle for peace, justice, freedom, and independence. It said Malaysia’s opposition to the occupation and alleged genocide committed by the Zionist regime of Israel aligns with universal values recognised by the international community.

“Malaysia will continue to work with the international community to pursue peace and justice, provide humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, and support the realisation of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine,” the ministry said, reaffirming Malaysia’s support for a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital.

The ministry also highlighted that justice and accountability are essential to achieving lasting peace and stressed that the Zionist regime of Israel must be held responsible for its ongoing injustices and violations of international law against the Palestinian people. - September 22, 2025
