NINE men aged between 17 and 21 have been detained to assist investigations into an incident where a group of 20 motorcyclists violently surrounded, punched, and kicked a Perodua Myvi near Batu 13 Toll Plaza on Sunday.
Serdang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Muhamad Farid Ahmad, confirmed the suspects were arrested in Puchong and Shah Alam.
“We also seized three motorcycles, and all individuals will be brought to court today for remand application to facilitate the investigation,” he stated in a press release on Tuesday.
The incident, which was widely reported on Monday, saw police hunting for the 20 motorcyclists believed to be involved. The victim, a 52-year-old security guard driving the car, was reportedly gripped by fear as he was surrounded by the aggressive gang at around 4 a.m.
Muhamad Farid said the victim lodged a police report immediately after the attack. The case is being investigated under Section 427 (mischief causing damage) and Section 279 (reckless driving) of the Penal Code.
A 29-second video circulating shows the victim’s car encircled by the motorcyclists, who manoeuvre closely on both sides and in front of the vehicle, seemingly intent on trapping and blocking its path.
One motorcyclist is captured punching the driver’s side window before kicking the door, prompting the driver to slow down to avoid a worse outcome. - September 30, 2025
