INVESTIGATORS in the case of the 16‑year‑old girl fatally stabbed at a secondary school in Bandar Utama have recorded statements from 127 witnesses so far, including students, teachers, school staff, counsellors, and the families of both the victim and the accused.

Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Shamsudin Mamat said further individuals may be questioned if more witnesses come forward.

“As of now, the police have recorded statements from 127 witnesses to assist the investigation. They include students, teachers, school staff, counsellors, the victim’s family and the suspect,” he said.

He added that investigators are also awaiting the full autopsy report.

Local media reported that the police have not yet confirmed claims circulating on social media that the victim sustained as many as 200 stab wounds. According to the victim’s mother, a pathologist had informed the family of the higher number, contradicting earlier reports of around 50 wounds.

The incident occurred on 14 October in a girls’ toilet at the school, where a 14‑year‑old male student allegedly stabbed his female classmate.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, and the suspect has been remanded for seven days. - October 17, 2025
