SEVEN passengers of an express bus were slightly injured after the vehicle they were travelling in caught fire following an accident with a lorry at Kilometre 78.7 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS) heading north, late last night.

The Operations Commander from the Ayer Hitam Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), Senior Fire Officer II (KUP) Mohd Nazrul Yusri Mohd Yusof said that his party received an emergency call regarding the incident at 11.17pm.

"Upon arrival at the location at 11.35pm, it was found that an express bus was on fire after being involved in an accident with a five-tonne lorry.

"There were seven male victims including the bus driver aged between 23 and 48, all of whom suffered minor injuries and had gotten out before rescue personnel arrived.

"The 35-year-old lorry driver did not suffer any injuries," he said in a statement today. - October 22, 2025
