THE Ministry of Transport (MoT) has announced a nationwide reduction in the price of the Bas.My 30-day unlimited travel card from RM50 to RM30 per month, effective immediately.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook said the initiative is exclusively for Malaysian citizens in states where the Bas.My public bus service operates.
He said the measure not only helps reduce the financial burden of commuters but is also expected to increase passenger numbers across the country.
“The Madani Government is deeply concerned about the public transport costs borne by the people. The 30-Day Bas.My Card, which was introduced nationwide at RM50 in August 2023, is now priced at only RM30,” he said at the launch of Bas.My Johor Bahru at Sutera Mall today.
“The Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) proposed the new price, and I have agreed to the reduction, effectively lowering daily travel costs to just RM1 a day, or 50 sen for a return trip.
This initiative applies only to Malaysians, while non-citizens will continue to pay the full fare according to their journey,” he added.
Bas.My currently operates in Kangar, Kota Setar, Ipoh, Seremban, Melaka, Johor Bahru, Kuala Terengganu, Kota Bharu, and Kuching, with phased expansion planned for Kuantan. Johor Bahru recorded the highest number of Bas.
My concession card registrations nationwide, reaching 18,580 as of last month. Its network now includes 162 buses, an increase of 34 units from before.
Loke said senior citizens aged 60 and above, persons with disabilities (OKU), school students, and university undergraduates—both public and private—will continue to enjoy free rides.
To enhance commuter convenience, the “Journey Planner” mobile application has been introduced, allowing users to view real-time bus locations, routes, and schedules.
“Bus operators are also required to share GTFS-R data with open platforms, enabling more journey planning applications to be developed for public use,” Loke said.
He added that a new service, Bas.My Medic, will be launched by the end of this year to assist mobility-impaired patients, including wheelchair users, in travelling to hospitals and dialysis centres.
“For the Bas.My Medic service, transport providers will supply two specially modified vans to pick up and drop off passengers from designated locations to hospitals or dialysis centres,” he said. - November 3, 2025
