A 12-YEAR-OLD boy was injured after being assaulted by several men over allegations that he had stolen a power bank at a food court in a public housing project in the capital recently.

Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said today that the incident reportedly arose from claims that the boy had taken a power bank belonging to a friend of one of the suspects.

“The victim sustained minor injuries to his forehead and mouth before seeking treatment at Kuala Lumpur Hospital,” he said in a statement on Monday.

Further investigations revealed the case is linked to police report Setapak 17850/25 and is being investigated under Sections 323 and 506 of the Penal Code.

Three local men aged between 49 and 61 have been arrested in separate locations in Kelantan and Kuala Lumpur to assist with the investigation.

“Further investigations are ongoing, and the police will finalise the investigation papers for subsequent action,” Datuk Fadil added.
