A RUBBER tapper pleaded guilty at the Sessions Court here on Tuesday to causing grievous harm to his adopted nephew using a machete during an incident in Pasir Puteh last week.

The accused, Noradin Ibrahim, 54, entered the plea after the charge was read before Judge Zulkifli Abdullah.

According to the charge, Noradin was accused of intentionally causing grievous hurt to Ahmad Firhan Hadi Hamzah, 44, using a machete at a house in Kampung Kulim, Pasir Puteh, around 6pm on 28 October 2025. The offence is punishable under Section 326 of the Penal Code.

Deputy public prosecutor Nursyafiqah Mohamad appeared for the prosecution, while the accused was unrepresented.

Based on the case facts, the accused attacked the victim with a machete, striking him on the front and back of the head. Medical reports confirmed that two fingers on the victim’s right hand were severed and later amputated to prevent infection.

Nursyafiqah urged the court not to grant bail, citing that the accused was the victim’s adoptive uncle and lived in the same house as the victim’s grandmother.

The court denied bail and fixed 3 December for mention and sentencing.

Earlier reports stated that the 44-year-old victim sustained serious injuries to his head and right hand after being slashed by his adoptive uncle during the altercation in Kampung Kulim on 28 October.- November 4, 2025
