A SPECIAL committee has been formed to detail the terms of reference and methods related to Sabah's 40 per cent revenue entitlement,

Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, said the special committee needs to determine the terms of reference and methods of allocation in the near future, well before the expiry of the 60-day period as previously set by the court.

"The committee will discuss and come up with a 'term of reference' so that when the new government (Sabah) is formed, they (the committee) can report to the state government.

"The Federal Government has decided not to appeal the 40 percent, but rather look at how we want to translate what is contained in the 40 percent, what methods and so on.

"This will be negotiated by the committee that will be established later for them to detail and finally provide a report to the new state government," he said in Kota Kinabalu today.

He said the committee will be co-chaired by Sabah State Secretary Datuk Seri Safar Utong and Treasury secretary-general Datuk Johan Mahmood Merican. – November 17, 2025
