A CIVIL servant was arrested after recording a video of a woman without permission at Pekan Sehari Temerloh, in Temerloh, Pahang with a number of pornographic videos and photos also found on the suspect's cellphone.

The video of the arrest of the suspect, 41, who works as a clerk, which is said to have occurred on November 9, recently went viral on social media.

Commenting on the incident, Temerloh District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Nasyim Bahron, said the 33-year-old victim realized the suspect's actions before the man was arrested with the help of others.

He said the police rushed to the location upon receiving the report and arrested the suspect and confiscated his cellphone.

"The investigation later found a number of videos of the victim that were secretly recorded in the mobile phone gallery, in addition to a number of pornographic videos and photos.

"The investigation, including analysis of the content of the man's mobile phone, is being conducted, with the suspect detained for 24 hours before being released, while the investigation papers will be referred to the public prosecutor for further action," he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 509A of the Penal Code for committing an act of insulting the honor of a person. - November 20, 2025
