A MAN was arrested after allegedly molesting a teenage girl at a temporary evacuation centre (PPS) in Bachok, Kelantan, on Thursday.

In the 11am incident, the 21-year-old suspect allegedly molested a 16-year-old teenage girl.

It is understood that the two did not know each other and were just chatting while at the PPS before the suspect molested the victim.

Sources said that immediately after the incident, the victim informed her mother about the matter before a police report was made.

"Following that, the police immediately arrested the suspect and he is now being remanded," he said as reported by Berita Harian.

Meanwhile, Bachok District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Ismail Jamaluddin when contacted confirmed the incident.

He said the suspect was remanded for five days and the case was being investigated under Section 14 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.

He said that further examination found that the suspect had a past criminal record related to drugs and crime. November 29, 2025
