A 16-YEAR-OLD schoolgirl has come forward with allegations of sexual abuse by her father, describing years of trauma dating back to when she was 12.
The victim reportedly confided in a teacher before being accompanied to a police station to file a formal report, ensuring that the abuse does not continue.
Brickfields District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Hoo Chang Hook, confirmed to Harian Metro that the police received the report at 10.30 am yesterday.
He said the case has been referred to the D11 Unit, which specialises in sexual offences against women and children at the Kuala Lumpur Contingent Police Headquarters, for further investigation.
“The suspect has already been detained by the authorities for questioning and investigation,” Hoo added.
Authorities are urging individuals who may be aware of similar cases to come forward, highlighting the importance of timely reporting to protect victims and prevent further abuse.
The incident has sparked calls for increased vigilance and support systems for minors facing domestic and sexual abuse.
