KTMB introduces new Komuter timetable across Klang Valley from January
New schedule part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades under the Klang Valley Double Track Phase II (KVDT2) project - December 14, 2025

KERETAPI Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) will roll out a new timetable for its Klang Valley Komuter services beginning 1 January, covering the Tanjung Malim–Port Klang–Tanjung Malim and Pulau Sebang–Batu Caves–Pulau Sebang routes.

The adjustments are designed to improve train operations and optimise commuter travel as upgrades continue under the Klang Valley Double Track Phase II (KVDT2) project.

“Schedule coordination is part of KTMB’s ongoing efforts to enhance service quality, as track upgrades under the KVDT project are now delivering more stable operational capacity,” KTMB said in a statement.

“These changes are expected to improve train punctuality, streamline movement along the routes, and support the provision of more consistent services for passengers.”

Under the new schedule, shuttle bus services between Subang Jaya and Port Klang, as well as at intermediary stations, will no longer be provided.

Trains will operate in both directions along the Port Klang route during peak morning and evening hours, maintaining a frequency of every 30 minutes to meet commuter demand.

Similarly, the Tanjung Malim–Kuala Lumpur route will offer consistent service to ensure comfort for daily passengers travelling to and from work.

KTMB also announced the introduction of two morning services from Tanjung Malim to Port Klang and one service to Shah Alam to accommodate passengers commuting via intermediary stations, including KL Sentral.

“Maintenance work and track closures will continue daily from 11am to 3pm,” the operator added. “During this period, there will be no passenger train services between Port Klang and KL Sentral to allow safe infrastructure upgrades.”

The revised timetable also affects the Pulau Sebang–Batu Caves–Pulau Sebang route, improving network coordination and minimising waiting times.

KTMB reaffirmed that peak-hour frequencies of 30 minutes will remain in place on this line, appreciating the patience and support of passengers throughout the KVDT2 project, which is expected to be fully completed by 2029.

During the transition period, trains on the Port Klang sector will continue to operate on a single track between Abdullah Hukum and Port Klang stations.

KTMB confirmed that operations will be closely monitored and adjusted as necessary to ensure safety and efficiency while infrastructure enhancements continue.

Passengers can access the new timetable through the KITS STYLE app or KTMB’s official website at [www.ktmb.com.my](http://www.ktmb.com.my). For further information, commuters may contact KTMB’s official social media channels or call the KTMB Call Centre at 03-9779 1200.

This timetable update marks a significant step in KTMB’s efforts to provide smoother, safer, and more reliable commuter services across the Klang Valley, reflecting progress in Malaysia’s ongoing rail infrastructure improvements. - December 14, 2025
