A WOMAN and a two-year-old boy were injured after falling from the first floor escalator to the ground floor of a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon.
According to Brickfields Deputy Police Chief, Superintendent Ahmad Firdaus, the incident occurred when the victim, an Indonesian citizen who was also the child's guardian, was using the escalator to go down to the ground floor.
"The results of a review by the Brickfields IPD found that a 40-year-old Indonesian woman who was the guardian had fallen while pushing a stroller using the escalator from the first floor to the ground floor (of the shopping mall).
"The two-year-old boy who was in the stroller was taken to the clinic for further examination and was confirmed not to have suffered serious injuries, only a minor wound to the forehead," he said in a brief statement today.
The child involved was handed over to his parents, while the woman suffered injuries to her neck and legs and was sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for further treatment. – December 20, 2025
