BUKIT MERTAJAM – Seberang Perai Tengah district police chief Shafee Abd Samad said a woman beat two cats  – one pregnant and another a kitten – with an iron bar until one of them died and the other severely injured at her home in Seberang Jaya yesterday.

He said in the incident, the cats had defecated in front of the 51-year-old woman’s house, causing her to be angry.

“According to the report, the angry woman had beaten the cats while they were being fed,” he said.

He said action will be taken against the woman under Section 29 (1)(e) of the Animal Welfare Act 2015 for causing unnecessary pain or suffering to an animal. – The Vibes December 30, 2020
