THE Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) and Tourism Malaysia have confirmed that action will be taken against the organisers of Miss & Mister Celebrity International 2025 after it was found that official logos were used without permission.

Tourism Malaysia’s Corporate Communications Division stated that the move is necessary to protect intellectual property rights, uphold brand integrity, and safeguard the official corporate identity.

“The ministry has no connection whatsoever with the organisation of Miss & Mister Celebrity International 2025, which was held at a convention centre in Sentul from 14 to 22 December,” the statement read.

It added: “The use of the Tourism Malaysia corporate logo and the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) campaign logo by the organisers was done without formal written approval.”

The announcement follows the circulation of a viral video on social media showing a man dressed as a woman receiving an award at the event.

The incident drew negative perceptions in the public due to the unauthorised use of official MOTAC and Tourism Malaysia logos, which appeared to imply institutional endorsement.

The event also sparked debate on social media, particularly among Muslim users, who argued that the event was incompatible with religious norms.

In response, MOTAC and Tourism Malaysia stressed that they are not liable for any public interpretations, repercussions, or legal implications arising from the event. - December 27, 2025
