MALAYSIA has strongly condemned Israel’s decision to suspend the operations of a number of international humanitarian organisations in Gaza, calling the move a clear violation of international humanitarian law that risks deepening an already critical crisis.
In a statement issued today, Wisma Putra described Israel’s actions as “a blatant breach of international humanitarian law” that will only exacerbate the ongoing humanitarian crisis following more than two years of continuous attacks on the Palestinian population in the territory.
“The obstruction of humanitarian aid constitutes a form of collective punishment against civilians, while also undermining the principle of operational neutrality and freedom for humanitarian organisations,” the statement said.
Malaysia emphasised that, as the occupying power, Israel is bound by obligations under the Fourth Geneva Convention to ensure unimpeded humanitarian access to Gaza.
The statement called on the international community to act decisively, demanding that Israel reverse its decision and guarantee the full and unrestricted delivery of humanitarian assistance.
“Israel must also be held accountable for any breaches of international law that have occurred.
“Malaysia once again affirms its unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people and will continue to advocate for an end to Israeli atrocities, the lifting of the blockade on Gaza, and the establishment of a free and sovereign Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital,” it added. - January 1, 2026
