THE Bukit Aman Classified Crimes Investigation Unit will take over the investigation into two reports made by former Chief of Army Tan Sri Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan against an activist.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus confirmed the matter in a statement.

"We received reports about the matter; the contents and the investigation have been taken over by the Bukit Aman Classified Crimes Unit," he said.

Hafizuddeain lodged the reports at the Dang Wangi police station yesterday over leaked banking documents and the dissemination of what he claimed were slanderous statements.

He is also reportedly considering civil action against the banking institutions involved and the individual who allegedly defamed him.

The reports follow allegations made by activist Badrul Hisham Shaharin, also known as Chegubard, who posted documents on social media purportedly showing the former army chief's private banking transactions.  - January 27, 2026
