HIS Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, issued a firm directive that efforts to combat corruption must be pursued without compromise across all state departments and agencies in Johor.
The firm directive underscores integrity and transparency as the cornerstone of good governance.
In a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Sultan Ibrahim revealed that the message was conveyed during a formal audience with the Johor Chief Minister, Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, and the State Secretary, Datuk Mohammed Ridha Abd Kadir, at Istana Pasir Pelangi in Johor Bahru today.
“Integrity and administrative transparency are fundamental to ensuring the continued welfare and prosperity of the state,” Sultan Ibrahim said, emphasising that no leniency should be shown in tackling corrupt practices.
The nearly two-hour audience also included Datin Paduka Hazlina Jalil, Mayor of Pasir Gudang City Council, and Mohammed Shakib Ali, Director of the Johor Land and Mines Department.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister presented a briefing on the current developments and rapid progress achieved in Johor, highlighting the state’s ongoing growth and achievements.
Sultan Ibrahim’s directive signals a clear expectation that all government bodies in Johor uphold the highest standards of probity while maintaining accountability to the public.
The royal emphasis on anti-corruption measures comes at a time when good governance is regarded as vital to sustaining the state’s economic and social wellbeing. - February 18, 2026
