Tengku Zafrul’s role will involve providing strategic political advice and support at the highest level of government - March 4, 2026

THE Prime Minister’s Office has announced the appointment of former minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz as Senior Political Adviser to the Prime Minister, effective from 4 March 2026 for a two-year term.

The appointment fills the vacancy of the Senior Political Secretary to the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim expressed confidence in Tengku Zafrul’s abilities and emphasised the importance of carrying out the duties with dedication and humility.

"The Prime Minister hopes that Tengku Zafrul will discharge this responsibility diligently and with humility, for the prosperity of the nation and the well-being of the people," the office stated.

The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that Tengku Zafrul’s role will involve providing strategic political advice and support at the highest level of government. - March 4, 2026
