PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that civil servants in Grade 15 and below will receive Special Financial Assistance (BKK) 2026 amounting to RM500, with payments scheduled for 13 March.

Speaking at the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living’s assembly last night, Anwar said the assistance will also extend to contract-appointed civil servants.

“The assistance will be given to civil servants in Grade 15 and below, including those appointed on a contract basis,” he said.

In addition to civil servants, government pensioners and veterans, whether receiving pensions or not, are set to receive RM250 on the same date.

“We want to ensure that our retirees and veterans are not left behind and continue to receive support. This assistance is also exempt from income tax,” he added.

The Prime Minister further announced that around 70,000 mosque and religious personnel, including clerics, as well as KAFA and mosque administration or religious education teachers, will also receive RM500 in special assistance.

This initiative forms part of the government’s wider effort to provide targeted financial support to public servants, retirees, and religious functionaries, ensuring their contributions are recognised and sustained amid rising living costs. - March 9, 2026
