THE Minister of Economy visited the construction site of the new highway linking Nilai, Labu, and Bandar Enstek today, a major component of the Malaysia Vision Valley (MVV) initiative.
Following the visit, Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir said the RM557.5 million project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027.
The highway is designed to improve connectivity to MVV and the western Seremban corridor, supporting investment, industry, logistics, housing, and workforce mobility, while easing traffic congestion and enhancing access to key economic zones.
“When access is smoother, the economy also moves faster. This project is not merely about building a road, but about creating opportunities for the people, workers, businesses, and investors,” Akmal said, emphasising the broader socio-economic benefits of the project.
He urged strong coordination and the swift resolution of any issues to prevent delays and additional costs amid global energy challenges and geopolitical uncertainties.
“In the current challenging situation, as the country increasingly feels the effects of the global energy crisis, including uncertainties arising from conflicts in West Asia, we cannot allow further delays.
“Any arising issues must be resolved quickly, in a coordinated and pragmatic manner, so that the project is completed on time and its benefits reach the people without delay,” he added.
The Ministry of Economy will continue close collaboration with the State Government, implementing agencies, technical authorities, utility companies, and contractors to ensure timely completion.
The initiative aligns with the Thirteenth Malaysia Plan (RMK13) 2026–2030, which emphasises sustainable, inclusive, and high-value growth, balanced regional development, and equitable distribution of development benefits to the people. - April 2, 2026
