Singaporean couple burnt to death, Ferrari they were riding in skidded off, caught fire

A SINGAPOREAN couple was burnt to death after the car they were in skidded off and crashed before catching fire at Kilometre 57.5 of Jalan Johor Bahru-Mersing yesterday.

Kota Tinggi District Police Chief, Superintendent Yusof Othman, said police received information about the incident from the public at 9 am.

"The accident involved a Ferrari 458 Italian supercar driven by a 34-year-old man with a 33-year-old woman in the front passenger seat. They were travelling from Johor Bahru to Mersing.

"The car skidded and crashed, resulting in both victims suffering serious injuries to their bodies, burns and dying at the scene," he said in a statement.

He said both bodies were referred to the Kota Tinggi Hospital Forensic Unit for investigation procedures.

According to him, the case is still under investigation under Section 4(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. - May 10, 2026
