POLICE arrested a man driving one of three cars involved in an accident at Kilometre 28 of the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) heading towards Duta Toll Plaza, last night, after a video of the incident went viral on social media.

The incident took place at around 11 pm when a Proton Inspira driven by a 26-year-old local man reportedly skidded before coming to a stop in the right lane of the highway and was then hit by two other vehicles from the same direction.

"A Proton Wira driven by a 40-year-old Indonesian man then crashed into the vehicle before a Toyota Hilux driven by a 41-year-old local man also collided with the Proton Inspira.

"The impact caused both vehicles to veer to the left side of the road and crash into the road barrier," said Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) head, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa.

Zamzuri said all three drivers escaped unhurt.

Police successfully tracked down and arrested the Proton Inspira driver today in Klang to assist in the investigation into the incident under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Among the actions taken by the police, he said, included requesting closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage at the scene of the incident, recording witness statements, visiting the scene of the incident, inspecting and taking photographs of the vehicles involved. – May 11, 2026
