HEAVY  rain late last night closed several main routes on the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) and the North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE) early this morning.

PLUS Malaysia announced via its Facebook page that one of the affected areas is at Kilometre 9.1 of the NKVE, between Shah Alam and Subang, where all lanes have been closed.

As a result, northbound traffic from Bukit Raja has been diverted to the Setia Alam toll plaza, while southbound traffic from Subang has been diverted to the ELITE Highway.

“The route from the Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE) heading toward the Shah Alam toll plaza remains closed,” it said.

Meanwhile, early this morning, members of the public shared updates on the flooding in Shah Alam via social media platforms, as many road users found themselves stranded in unusually heavy traffic congestion.

Several areas around Puncak Alam also remain flooded, with some locations and roads rendered impassable to motorists.

This marks the second instance of flooding in the Subang, Shah Alam, and Puncak Alam areas within a short period, following a similar event yesterday that also caused several major routes to be submerged and subsequently closed. – November 4, 2026
