THE woman who was stabbed by a man in a Mazda 3 in front of a restaurant in Titi Gajah, Kepala Batas, has successfully undergone a 10-hour surgery.

The victim's sister, who did not want to be identified, said that the victim, who was injured in the neck, successfully underwent surgery at the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) on Monday.

"My sister successfully underwent surgery that started from 9 am to 7 pm yesterday and is still being treated at the HSB Intensive Care Unit (ICU)," she said, explaining that her sister was sleeping after the surgery.

It is understood that the victim's two children are currently in the care of their family while their mother is being treated in the hospital.

Kota Setar District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Syed Basri Syed Ali, said that the victim's condition is now stable.

It was earlier reported that a woman was stabbed in the neck by an unknown man in front of a restaurant on Jalan Titi Gajah, Kepala Batas.

In the incident at 9.19 pm, the woman and the suspect were believed to have been in the vehicle before the incident occurred.

The victim is said to have honked her car horn to attract the attention of people nearby while the suspect fled.

A few hours after the search was conducted, the suspect was arrested by police while in the Taman Uda mosque area at 1.50 am. – May 19, 2026
