A TRAGIC incident at a high-rise residential complex in Johor Bahru has left one child dead and another critically injured after the pair reportedly fell from an upper floor of the building on Sunday morning.
The victims, an eight-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy, were found on a lower level of the apartment complex near the swimming pool area after the fall, which occurred at approximately 7.59am.
According to BH, the girl succumbed to her injuries while being transported to hospital, while the boy remains in critical condition and is receiving intensive care treatment at Sultanah Aminah Hospital.
The incident has shocked residents of the Tampoi neighbourhood and raised questions about the circumstances that led to the fall.
Johor Bahru North police chief Assistant Commissioner Radin Ramlan Radin Taha confirmed the incident but declined to disclose further details pending an official statement.
Investigators are continuing to determine how the two children came to fall from the upper levels of the residential block, with authorities expected to provide additional information once preliminary findings are completed.
At present, police have not disclosed whether foul play is suspected or whether the incident has been classified as an accident.
