KUALA LUMPUR – A total of 1,650 volunteers are expected to be involved in the flood relief ‘task force’, which will be mobilised immediately throughout the country to help flood victims, said Bersatu deputy president Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
In a statement today, he said the ‘task force’ has been set up by the party in collaboration with relevant agencies and local leaders so that the scopes of assistance do not overlap with each other and can be managed well.
“These volunteers will later become bridges that connect aid efforts and ease the burden of our brothers and sisters being hit by floods.
“I am confident that if we are all sincere in extending this assistance, it can provide some relief and remedy for the victims,” said the Tambun MP.
Faizal also called on all levels of Bersatu leadership to give full attention to relief for flood victims.
Currently, the states affected by the floods are Johor, Pahang, Perak, Selangor, Kelantan and Terengganu. – Bernama, January 4, 2021
