THREE men were killed after a five-tonne lorry carrying chicken supplies crashed into a parked trailer on the East-West Highway in the early hours of Monday.

The crash, which occurred at about 4.15am, claimed the lives of the lorry driver, Norazeman Abdul Aziz, 42, and two attendants, Mohd Haikal Hanifah, 29, and Mohammad Zakwan Mohd Nor, 16.

Operations commander Mat Nuri Mohamad said the Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 4.26am, prompting 12 personnel, including an officer, to be deployed to the scene.

Upon arrival, firefighters found that the five-tonne lorry had collided with a trailer that had been parked by the roadside.

"The accident left all three victims trapped inside the lorry and they were extricated by firefighters.

"They were pronounced dead at the scene by the Ministry of Health, and their bodies were handed over to the police for further action," he said. - July 21, 2026
