POLICE have found no evidence of third-party involvement in the deaths of two 14-year-old schoolgirls who were found dead near the Sungai Pari Flats in the Buntong area on Friday.
Perak police chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said preliminary investigations also indicated that the two victims had voluntarily left their school before the incident.
Police received a report after the girls were found unconscious at the scene and they were subsequently pronounced dead.
“So far, investigations have not uncovered any evidence indicating the involvement of any other party in the incident,” he said in a statement.
The two victims, who were close friends, were believed to have fallen from the upper floor of a vacant residential building at about 4.50pm.
They were students at the same secondary school in Ipoh and had attended their afternoon school session before the incident.
Mohd Alwi said investigations were continuing, with the exact cause of death to be determined only after post-mortem and forensic analysis reports are completed.
He urged the public to respect the privacy of the victims' families and refrain from speculating or sharing unverified information that could interfere with the investigation.
Police have appealed to anyone with information about the incident to contact the Ipoh District Police Headquarters operations room at 05-2451500 or visit the nearest police station to assist with the investigation. - July 25, 2026
