TWO teenage girls who were found dead at an abandoned apartment block in Sungai Pari Flat, Buntong, Ipoh, were reportedly discovered after their family members arrived at the location searching for them.
Security guard R Madhesh, 22, said the brother of one of the victims came to the site at around 2.30pm yesterday with a friend in search of his younger sister.
About an hour later, a woman believed to be the guardian of one of the victims arrived at the abandoned flats at around 3.30pm.
Madhesh said he was not at the scene when the girls were eventually found as he had briefly left to buy drinks before being informed by his colleague about the discovery.
“The brother of one of the victims and his friend arrived on a motorcycle and asked whether I had seen two teenage girls entering this place. I told them I had not seen them.
“This was after his friend said he saw the two teenagers entering the area at about 1.30pm.
“I then helped the two men search the area, but there was no response and we could not find them.
“An hour later, the guardian of one of the victims arrived by car while crying and immediately asked whether I had seen the two teenagers,” he said when met at the scene.
Madhesh said he continued searching the abandoned residential block, including going to the upper floors, before being instructed by his employer to leave the building while the victims’ family members waited outside.
“When my supervisor arrived here, I was asked to come down and I then went out to buy water. When I returned, many people had gathered around the bodies of the two teenagers,” he said.
Meanwhile, local resident Roshider Pal Singh Karam Singh, 46, said the abandoned Sungai Pari Flat had been left vacant for about 13 years and was known among residents as a location linked to drug abuse activities.
He said the site had also been used several times as a filming location for dramas and movies, particularly horror productions.
“Previously, this area became a drive-through location for drug dealing activities. I was informed that the area has already been purchased and the new owner intends to redevelop it without demolishing the existing structures because it could risk causing cracks to the houses belonging to nearby residents,” he said.
Earlier, reports stated that the two 14-year-old female students were found dead after they were believed to have fallen from an upper floor of the abandoned flat. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. - July 25, 2026
