NEGERI Sembilan caretaker Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun says it is premature to determine the pattern of voter support as campaigning for the state election enters its second week, with many voters still weighing their options ahead of polling day on Aug 1.
He said some voters may have already decided on their choice, but a significant number remain undecided and are expected to make their decision at the final stage of the campaign.
“The campaign has been going on for a week, but it is still too early to make an assessment. Voters are still evaluating and watching what happens.
“Some may have already made their decision, while others are still undecided. I believe those who are undecided will make their choice at the last minute.
“This group is large in number and they are the ones who need attention,” he said after conducting a house-to-house visit in Bandar Baru Sunggala, Port Dickson.
Aminuddin, who is defending the Linggi state seat, said campaign efforts had entered a more intensive phase, with greater focus on reaching voters from all segments of society.
He also apologised to residents he had yet to meet personally throughout his campaign visits, saying efforts would continue to reach as many voters as possible before early voting begins on Tuesday.
“God willing, we will try to meet as many people as possible. To those whom I have not had the opportunity to meet, I apologise because we know early voting begins this Tuesday.
“Today is already Sunday. If I am unable to meet them, I hope those voting early will give their support to Pakatan Harapan.
“Likewise, for those voting on Aug 1, I seek continued support so that the state’s development agenda can continue,” he said.
Aminuddin said campaign activities in village areas were almost completed, with attention now shifting towards several remaining polling districts that had yet to be visited.
On housing initiatives outlined in the PH manifesto, he said the issue remained among the coalition’s key priorities, with a commitment to continue affordable housing programmes through cooperation with developers.
He said the affordable housing schemes would cover homes priced at RM45,000, RM110,000 and RM250,000 categories.
“For Negeri Sembilan youths, whenever there are offers or advertisements for Type A housing, submit your applications and ensure that you meet the eligibility requirements.
“We want Type A housing to benefit those who truly need it, especially the B40 group and below,” he said.
Aminuddin added that the Rumah Harapan initiative, aimed at helping B40 households with access to their own land or family-owned land in villages, would also remain a focus.
“We introduced Rumah Harapan to help them build homes on their own land.
“This is important to prevent villages from becoming empty and to ensure young people do not have to move to cities simply because of housing problems.
“Rumah Harapan is for those who wish to remain in their own villages, on their own land, their family’s land, or land belonging to their parents.
“We do not want villages to be abandoned and left without sufficient residents, eventually forcing many to migrate to urban areas.
“The house currently costs RM85,000, but this depends on costs at the time because we do not impose interest on repayments,” he said. - July 26, 2026
