THE Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) will dispatch officers to Kedah to record the statement of Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor as part of an ongoing investigation into remarks he allegedly made concerning racial issues during a political ceramah in Jempol recently.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail said the investigation into the matter was still ongoing and that police were making arrangements to obtain Muhammad Sanusi's statement.
“Actually, this matter is still under investigation. We are trying to obtain the Menteri Besar's statement. He is currently in Kedah.
“Our officers are making the necessary arrangements to travel there and record his statement,” he told reporters after visiting the polling centre at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan King George V here today.
Mohd Khalid urged all parties to refrain from making speculative comments that could interfere with the investigation, stressing that the case was still being examined.
“Whatever the case, I do not want any party to make any speculation because the investigation requires further inquiries and evidence from the relevant parties so that we can complete the investigation paper before submitting it to the Attorney General,” he said.
Earlier, Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said police had received a report over a speech delivered by the Jeneri state assemblyman.
He said investigators had already recorded statements from several witnesses and had sought the assistance of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to support the investigation involving the PAS leader. - August 1, 2026
