TWO senior Pakatan Harapan (PH) figures suffered defeats in key contests in Negeri Sembilan, with DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke and PH state chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun losing their respective seats based on unofficial results.

Loke, who contested the Chennah state seat, was defeated by Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Siow Kong Choon, who secured the victory with a majority of 688 votes.

The Chennah contest was among the closely watched battles in the state election, with Loke having previously won the seat in the last state polls with a 2,200-vote majority.

Meanwhile, Aminuddin, the former Negeri Sembilan menteri besar, failed in his bid to retain his position in the state assembly after losing the Linggi seat.

Aminuddin, who had represented Sikamat in the previous election with a 2,662-vote majority, opted to contest Linggi this time instead.

The Linggi seat saw a three-cornered fight involving BN, PH and Bersatu, with incumbent Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli and Bersatu’s Datuk Zamri Md Said also in the race. - August 1, 2026
