FIVE Members of Parliament from PKR voiced disappointment following the government's decision to block access to the special allocation portal, MyKHAS, for Ampang MP Rodziah Ismail.
In a joint statement issued on Saturday, the lawmakers declared that Rodziah is now the third elected representative from the governing coalition to be denied the right to manage public funds intended for her constituency.
“Once again, this serious abuse of power demonstrates how the Madani Government is increasingly blurring the line between party and state, and between democracy and autocracy,” the MPs said.
The joint statement was issued by Subang MP Wong Chen, Lee Chean Chung (Petaling Jaya), Rodziah Ismail (Ampang), S. Kesavan (Sungai Siput), and Zahir Hassan (Wangsa Maju).
The MPs openly questioned the legitimacy of shifting local administrative power away from voter-backed representatives.
Rodziah recently reported that her service centre had been barred from accessing the MyKHAS portal, a platform designed to administer constituency development funds.
Similar restrictions were previously imposed on Chean Chung and Wong Chen, both of whom have been associated with former PKR Deputy President Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli.
The five lawmakers stressed that parliamentary allocations must not be manipulated for political leverage or treated as personal favours from leadership.
The statement also challenged the appointment of the Prime Minister's Political Secretary, Datuk Azman Abidin, as the coordinator for the Ampang parliamentary constituency, questioning whether such duties fall within his official scope and capacity.
“We demand that the Prime Minister clarify the legal provisions, regulations, or policies used to block MyKHAS's access to the three government MPs involved,” the group added.
“If an MP has committed an offence, proper investigations and actions must be carried out according to the law, while breaches of party protocol should be handled by the Disciplinary Board without weaponising public funds.”
Concluding their statement, the backbenchers reaffirmed that their campaign is rooted in upholding institutional integrity rather than seeking special privileges.
“Reform does not mean politicising public funds and replacing elected representatives with chosen proxies. This demand is not about seeking special treatment, but about ensuring one fundamental principle is respected: the mandate of the people.” - August 8, 2026
