A 49-YEAR-OLD man was found dead in an oil palm plantation in Banting, Kuala Langat on Sunday, with police detaining eight people in connection with the suspected murder.
Kuala Langat district police chief Superintendent Akmalrizal Mohd Radzi said police received a report from personnel of the Public Order and National Security Department (KDNKA) at the Kuala Langat District Police Headquarters (IPD) after the man was found unconscious in the plantation at about 5pm.
“Following the incident, eight individuals were detained for allegedly being involved in the case.”
He said the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty or imprisonment of between 30 and 40 years, together with at least 12 strokes of the cane upon conviction.
