THE Ministry of Finance (MOF) has denied claims circulating on social media about the existence of a ‘RM1,700 eMADANI Aid’ for housewives, single mothers and senior citizens, describing the information as false.
In a statement today, MOF urged the public not to be deceived by the claims, click on suspicious links or share personal or banking information through unauthorised websites or accounts.
“The public is advised not to be deceived, not to click on any suspicious links and not to share personal or banking information through unauthorised websites or accounts,” it said.
The ministry also advised Malaysians to verify information concerning government aid and initiatives through official government channels before sharing it.
“Check first. Do not easily believe. Do not spread false information,” it said.
The warning followed the circulation of social media claims purportedly offering financial assistance to housewives, single mothers and senior citizens through the ministry.
MOF urged the public to exercise caution and rely only on official government sources when checking information about aid programmes and other initiatives. - August 17, 2026
