PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has sent a representative to a children’s entrepreneurship event here after being personally invited by a pupil, saying he did not want to disappoint the children despite being in Brunei Darussalam on official duties.
Anwar said a child from Taska As Sakeenah had sent him a message inviting him to attend Children’s Entrepreneurs Day at the childcare centre in Subang Jaya today.
In a Facebook post, Anwar said he had wanted to attend the event to show his support but was unable to do so as he was in Brunei Darussalam leading Malaysia’s delegation to the 27th Annual Leaders’ Consultation (ALC-27) between Malaysia and Brunei.
“I really wanted to attend and show my support, but I am in Brunei Darussalam leading the country’s delegation.
“Not wanting to disappoint the children, ‘Uncle Anwar’ sent an officer, Raimi Ab Rahim, to represent me and convey a small contribution and warm greetings to everyone.
“I hope Children’s Entrepreneurs Day will provide the children with a meaningful experience and nurture an interest in entrepreneurship from a young age. If you make a profit, don’t forget to save,” he said.
Anwar also expressed hope that the programme would give the children valuable early exposure to entrepreneurship while encouraging them to develop an interest in business from a young age.
He further prayed that the children would grow into hardworking individuals who would always help their families and contribute positively to society.
“I pray that these children will grow up to become hardworking individuals who will always help their families and contribute to society,” he said.
Anwar arrived in Bandar Seri Begawan yesterday for a two-day working visit to attend ALC-27, which brings together the Malaysian and Brunei leaders for discussions on bilateral and regional issues. - August 22, 2026
