KUALA LUMPUR – The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) has sent more than a tonne of food and basic items under Op Murni to flood-hit areas in Pahang since Monday.
Its public relations division, in a statement today, said an EC 725 AP helicopter from No. 10 Squadron at Kuantan Airbase has been deployed to areas whose land routes have been cut off.
On Monday, RMAF conducted three flights to deliver 259kg of food from the Welfare Department to affected areas in Kuala Lipis and Temerloh.
“Yesterday, 10 flights were conducted to send a tonne of supplies to the Batu 3 Camp, SK Lubuk Terua, SK Lanchang, Lanchang National Youth Skills Institute, SK Desa Bakti, SK Rantau Panjang, SK Penjom and SMK Seberang Temerloh,” said the statement.
It said the air force also carried out three mercy flights to transport flood victims to Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital in Temerloh yesterday.
“The first mercy flight carried heart patient Mohd Sayuti Md Rajab, 39, while the second flew kidney patient Mohd Zain Abdul Manan, 77, from SK Lanchang.
“The third flight transported twin babies, Afya Zara Rosman Hafsam and Arfan Naufal Rosman Hafsam, from SMK Teluk Sentang.” – Bernama, January 6, 2021
