KUALA LUMPUR – The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) has sent more than a tonne of food and basic items under Op Murni to flood-hit areas in Pahang since Monday.

Its public relations division, in a statement today, said an EC 725 AP helicopter from No. 10 Squadron at Kuantan Airbase has been deployed to areas whose land routes have been cut off.

On Monday, RMAF conducted three flights to deliver 259kg of food from the Welfare Department to affected areas in Kuala Lipis and Temerloh.

It said the air force also carried out three mercy flights to transport flood victims to Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital in Temerloh yesterday.

“The first mercy flight carried heart patient Mohd Sayuti Md Rajab, 39, while the second flew kidney patient Mohd Zain Abdul Manan, 77, from SK Lanchang.
