NEGERI Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim has reaffirmed the state government’s full support and loyalty to Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir, following a claim by the state’s four Undang that they had signed a proclamation seeking his removal.
In a statement today, Ismail said he had taken note of the media statement issued by the Undang Yang Empat on Sept 5.
He said any views expressed by the four Undang were their right.
“My focus now is to carry out my responsibilities as the Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar in the interests of the people and the state,” he said.

Ismail’s statement came after a letter and announcement concerning a proclamation purportedly made under Article 10 of the Constitution of the State of Negeri Sembilan 1959 were circulated publicly.
In their Sept 5 statement, the Undang Yang Empat claimed they had signed the proclamation on April 19, 2026, declaring the removal of Tuanku Muhriz from the throne.
The four Undang are the traditional rulers who play a key role in the selection of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan.
Ismail, meanwhile, reaffirmed that the state government remained fully supportive of and loyal to Tuanku Muhriz as the Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan. - September 6, 2026
