A 34-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of raping his 13-year-old daughter at a village in Ranau, Sabah.

Ranau district police chief Superintendent Mursalin Mahmud said the suspect was arrested on Monday following a police report lodged by the victim’s aunt.

He said police received a complaint from a woman alleging that her niece had been raped by her biological father.

“The incident is believed to have occurred at about 2am on Sept 20, when the suspect entered the victim’s bedroom and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent,” he said in a statement today.

Preliminary investigations found that the victim lived with her biological father and stepmother, and that the incident allegedly occurred while the stepmother was out of the district.
