A MOTHER and her two sons died after being trapped in a fire that engulfed their two-storey terrace house in Taman Titiwangsa in Kluang on Wednesday night.
The victims were identified as Noraini Ibrahim, 49, and her sons Khairul Nurhaziqq Khairulnizam, 18, and Khairul Nurhadiff Khairulnizam, 11.
The Johor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said it received an emergency call at 10.44pm, prompting 14 firefighters from the Kluang Fire and Rescue Station to rush to the scene, arriving about five minutes later.
“Upon arrival, the operations team found that the fire involved a two-storey terrace house measuring 16 feet by 70 feet by 10 feet.
“About 50 per cent of the house was burnt, while three victims were trapped inside and were pronounced dead by medical personnel,” it said in a statement.
The victims were pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel from the Health Ministry.
Firefighters used two hose lines and two jets to battle the blaze, which was brought under control at 12.32am.
The operation also involved two SITRAK vehicles and an Emergency Medical Rescue Service (EMRS) unit. - September 10, 2026
