A MEETING between Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim, members of the state executive council and Tunku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja’afar, scheduled for this morning, has been cancelled on security grounds, according to a source.
The source said the meeting, which was to be held at the Tuanku Ja’afar Royal Gallery, was called off after the organisers received advice from the authorities.
“The meeting today was cancelled on security grounds after receiving advice from the authorities,” the source said.
The 9 am meeting was initially planned as a get-to-know-you session between Ismail, the Exco members and Tunku Nadzaruddin, who claims to be the legitimate Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan.
The Four Undangs, Tunku Besar of Tampin and Dato’ Shahbandar of Sungei Ujong were also expected to attend.
Several assemblymen from Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional had been scheduled to attend as well.
The cancellation comes amid the continuing dispute over the Negeri Sembilan throne and the status of the state administration.
