THE Melaka state branch of PKR has warned its supporters and election machinery to be more cautious when using artificial intelligence (AI)-generated visuals after a poster featuring an incorrect state flag went viral on social media.
Melaka PKR Information chief Eddiarman Mohd Yunos said the poster was not official campaign material and had been produced by an individual who did not represent the party.
He said the poster had since been removed.
“The poster failed to meet both these aspects, highlighting the shortcomings of generative AI in producing visuals that are accurate and sensitive,” he said in a statement today.
Eddiarman said PKR always upheld the integrity of national and state flags, coats of arms and other official symbols, while ensuring its leadership line-up was accurately presented in official materials.
He urged supporters to exercise greater responsibility when sharing social media content to prevent confusion over materials that were not officially produced by the party.
Eddiarman also said the party valued the creativity and work of graphic designers, which he said helped support the local creative economy. - September 25, 2026
