THE photographs of the 10 Negeri Sembilan State Executive Council (Exco) members are no longer displayed on the official Negeri Sembilan State Government portal following the revocation of their appointments.
A check revealed that only the photograph of the Menteri Besar, Datuk Ismail Lasim, is displayed in the State Executive Council section of the portal.
Ismail currently holds the portfolios of Islamic Religious Affairs and Security; Finance, Land, and Natural Resources; as well as Investment, Infrastructure, Utilities, Communications, and Felda.
This development follows the gazetting of the revocation of the 10 Exco members' appointments on Thursday.
The gazette, dated September 24, states that the appointments of all the Exco members were revoked effective September 20, with the consent of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.
The revocation was made in accordance with Article 38(5) of the Laws of the Constitution of Negeri Sembilan 1959.
They are Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli, Datuk Zaifulbahri Idris, Datuk Mustapha Nagoor, Siow Kong Choon, Siti Nur Umaira Hasim, Datuk Mohd Asna Amin, Datuk Mohd Razi Mohd Ali, Suhaimizan Bizar, Mohd Fairuz Mohd Isa, and Datuk Razali Abu Samah.
According to the gazette, all of them had taken and signed the oath of office and pledge of loyalty before Tuanku Muhriz on August 7 prior to assuming their duties as Negeri Sembilan Exco members.
The gazette also states that, pursuant to Article 38(5) of the Laws of the Constitution of Negeri Sembilan 1959, an Exco member—other than the Menteri Besar—holds office at the pleasure of Tuanku Muhriz. On September 20, Istana Negeri Sembilan announced that Tuanku Muhriz had revoked the appointments of all the Executive Council (Exco) members in question, effective immediately.
Previously, Ismail was reported as saying that the affected Exco members had been barred from entering their respective offices at Wisma Negeri since Wednesday, including for the purpose of carrying out official duties.
He claimed that the directive was conveyed verbally by the authorities and that no written order had been issued. – September 26, 2026
