KUALA LUMPUR – Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun is confirmed positive for Covid-19, following testing at Klinik Kesihatan Putrajaya last night.

In a statement, she said she was admitted to Sg Buloh Hospital at 11am today for treatment and observation.

The Titiwangsa MP apologised for the inconvenience caused by her diagnosis.

She said her close contacts have been identified and will follow the guidelines set by the Health Ministry, and that she hopes all parties pray for their well-being.

She gave an assurance that her ministry will continue operations as usual despite her absence.

Rina’s diagnosis comes after Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed announced that he tested positive for the coronavirus in Kota Baru on Saturday.

The Jeli MP has been admitted to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital.

Mustapa’s attendance at last week’s cabinet meeting has prompted ministers to undergo swab tests.

Education Minister Mohd Radzi Md Jidin has tested negative, while Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof and Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah are observing self-isolation as a precautionary measure after being swabbed yesterday. – The Vibes, January 11, 2021
