MIRI – Despite treating about 300 Covid-19 patients currently, the Miri Hospital is resuming its specialist clinics today due to public demand.
The management said in a public notice that all the specialist clinics will start operations today as it is a medical hub for northern Sarawak.
Some three weeks ago, the specialist clinics were temporarily stopped after the hospital saw a surge in Covid-19 patients.
Anyone who wishes to set an appointment with a specialist doctor must call the hospital first.
The hospital said that “last-minute walk-in” patients will not be allowed except for emergency cases.
The clinics encompass consultations for heart, eye, ear, nose, throat and other issues.
Patients are told to leave the hospital immediately after their checks and being given their medication.
No visitors are allowed in the wards.
Patients who are admitted to the hospital are allowed to be accompanied by one person each, and they have to register their personal details before being granted permission.
The hospital is also a Covid-19 isolation and treatment hub for districts of Miri, Marudi, Baram, Sibuti, Bakong, Suai and Niah. – The Vibes, February 1, 2021
