MIRI – Travelling between Sarawak’s various Covid-19 designated zones – red, orange, yellow and green – has been banned, except for emergencies.
The state Disaster Management Committee said these are part of measures to contain the spread of Covid-19 infections by banning travelling between the different zones.
“Any travelling for urgent purposes will require a police permit,” the committee secretariat said in a statement.
Local, wet and other public markets are closed until further notice in the 11 red-zone districts of Sibu, Miri, Julau, Subis, Lundu, Beluru, Kapit, Song, Dalat, Kanowit and Bintulu, it said.
The second day of Chinese New Year today saw no new Covid-19 deaths in the state with the death toll unchanged at 58.
Today, there are 152 new virus cases throughout the state with Sibu district continuing to record the highest daily figure with 45 today, Subis (33), Kapit (23), Julau (11), Song (19), Bintulu and Miri (8 each), and several other districts (fewer than 5).
There are 16 active clusters in the state.
Sibu Hospital today has 858 Covid-19 patients, Miri Hospital (398), Sarawak General Hospital in Kuching (142), Bintulu Hospital (143), Kapit Hospital (185), Sarikei Hospital (55), Limbang Hospital (3) and Saratok Hospital (1). – The Vibes, February 13, 2021
